Omni Rancho Las Palmas: What Desert Dreams Are Made Of

Towering palm trees surrounded by unmatched mountains landscapes, warm desert breeze, insta-worthy poolside cocktails, unlimited activities for kids and adults. I spent a weekend at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas and experienced a true desert oasis.

LOCATION

Palm Springs is the favorite weekend getaway for many SoCal residents for quite a few reasons. It's only a 2 hour drive from LA or 2h30min from San Diego (may traffic be in your favor) that takes you straight to the desert.

It's known for its mid-century modern architecture and vibe. It also happens to be the 2nd home for many Hollywood-A listers and the place to see and be seen around Coachella time. It's all about glamour and all about hip. Palm Springs is a destination that you will love.

Nestled in Rancho Mirage, about 12 miles from Palm Springs, the Rancho Las Palmas is the perfect place whether you're looking to experience the glitz or the chill of the desert.

THE RESORT

There is no shortage of things to do here. I mean, does 25 tennis courts, 27 holes of championship golf, a 24h fitness center, waterpark, restaurants, spa and an adults only pool sound like enough?

"With so many things to do, the Rancho Las Palmas is a destination itself."

We arrived at the resort on a Friday night after what had been a long day and were welcomed to live music going down at the beautiful courtyard by the Palms Cafe. We then grabbed a few beers at the R Bar, and by then we could already tell the weekend was going to be amazing.

ACCOMODATION

I want to start by saying that the hotel is pet friendly, and this is another big plus for me.

You guys know that we usually take our kitty Tom on road trips, so being able to bring him on this trip made it even more special.

All 444 rooms have French doors that open to private patios or balconies with luscious mountain views, the resorts grounds, or the waterpark. Omni beautifully incorporated the Spanish colonial architecture, the desert landscapes and the always so vibrant Palm Springs lifestyle into every aspect of the hotel.

We all felt spoiled and totally enjoyed the features and comfort of our room.

SPA

The Spa at Las Palmas is possibly the best spa facility I've ever been to thus far.

It offers a steam room, dry sauna, hot tub, exclusive pool, aromatherapy showers, and last but not least, desert inspired treatments. I absolutely love that they use native plants and herbs from California's desert for a true oasis of rejuvenation experience.

I chose the Cactus Healing Massage and it did not disappoint. My therapist used warmed Nopal cactus pads and a healing oil blend on my full body massage. It was relaxing, nourishing and now I'm a believer of the healing powers of the desert!

DINING

The food and the service were excellent. You can get fine cuisine in a casual setting with the beautiful palm trees and mountains as the backdrop.

We make a pit stop at Palms Cafe for a quick grab & go and Peet's coffee! We also ordered some sports bar food & drinks from R Bar while watching the Dodgers lose to the Nationals (bummer!). What was really cool is that I didn't even leave the pool to enjoy my tropical Island Delight cocktail from Splash Grill.

I must say though, our very favorite was the "all you can eat" brunch at bluEmber. We paid $26 per person and coffee and juices were included. Delish!

POOLS

My favorite part of the resort. I could've stayed floating around the lazy river all day, every day. It was truly super fun to experience that, and to also get a dose of adrenaline rush going down the waterslides.

The Splashtopia waterpark is definitely a huge perk that's included to all guests staying at the resort, and it also includes a sandy beach and water-play area with sprinklers for the kiddos.

There are lifeguards around the pools to keep a close eye in the little ones, and the adults only pool is for sure the best place to soak up the desert sun and enjoy a poolside cocktail.

With so many things to do, the Rancho Las Palmas is a destination itself. There's honestly no need to leave their premises because they have plenty of attractions to keep the entire family entertained at all times during your stay.

Totally worth the trip, I'm thankful I got to experience all of this, and now, to be able to tell you about it, so that hopefully you can get to visit them too!

Can't wait to show you more of the best experiences and places around this beautiful world!

With Love,

Bella.
